The parade commenced as scheduled with an amazing number of courageous onlookers braving the cold with wind chills around 20°. I staked out a vantage point between buildings where the wind wasn’t blowing quite as much while a lively crowd gathered along Jefferson Street hooten and hollering along with the wind being funneled in like it was green beer.

Tough decisions will always have to be made about weather to cover a half-million dollar procedure for one person, or a five hundred dollar procedure for a thousand people. But, in order to be a fair and consistent system, it has to start off offering the same benefits to everyone.
The Birds Nest
To my chagrin, I really had no other choice but to place the bird condo in another spot out front – but hopefully not too very far away. I watched for quite awhile after moving the nest, and finally I began to loose hope as the little bird didn’t seem to figure out where the new location was, or if she intended to resume her matronly duties.
