Forgive me for waxing poetic… well maybe this wrap-up should just be called “waxy.” … In short, these stories about eugenics, censorship, invasion of privacy and the impending North Korean apocalypse deserve much more attention, but the world moves on, and these stories will reappear, probably over and again. I might have titled this column “The Empire Strikes Back.” If I did that, however, it would only be in good natured jest, but frankly, I already have more misgivings about Mr. Trump than I expected I would, and so I already wonder how far the “good natured” part of the equation is going to go.

Even though the turnout has been heavy throughout the nation, I found this oddly low turnout at my polling place this morning about 9:00 a.m. I do usually time my arrival for the least likely crowd, but when the turnout is big, there are usually more than I found in line today.
