With the threat of bad weather looming last night Huntsville St. Patrick’s Day Parade organizers declared that cold and snow wouldn’t cancel the parade, but they said, dangerous roads might. This morning the luck of the Irish prevailed and while there was some snow on the ground, temps in 30’s and a howling wind from the north, the roads remained mostly clear – probably because of warm temperatures earlier in the week and plentiful sunshine by parade time at 11:00 a.m.

And so, the parade commenced as scheduled with an amazing number of courageous onlookers braving the cold with wind chills around 20°. I staked out a vantage point between buildings where the wind wasn’t blowing quite as much while a lively crowd gathered along Jefferson Street hooten and hollering along with the wind being funneled in like it was green beer.
This video was broadcast live on Twitch and includes the entire parade.
