Cleveland police officer Timothy Loehmann is no better than any other dirtbag who kills as part of his gang indoctrination. For the wanton murder of innocent 12 year old Tamir Rice – that’s what the death penalty is for.
Not unlike smart-ass Harris County Texas Sheriff Ron Hickman who convicted the suspect before he was even apprehended ( see the article below “Darren Goforth dTIRRd By Miles & Miles & Miles | Pigs Don’t Learn” ), Sheriff Hanlin has already got it all figured out. Within two days of what was indeed a horrific massacre in Umpqua Oregon, without being able to talk to Chris Harper Mercer – because he is dead – while his family, all the students, and all he community is still in shock – this smart ass sheriff KNOWS everything there is to know, has convicted Harper of mental illness, and declared him to be “unrecognizable.”
There’s a sure fire recipe for the escalation of violence, not unlike what we saw in Chattanooga, Tennessee just yesterday. Shut the door and be intolerant. Do that, and it won’t be long until the home grown lone wolves won’t have been born in a foreign country, or complain that their name provokes bias and prejudice. When we get to that point, the situations like Ferguson won’t be “them” against the police, it will be “them” against the other “them.”
I’m surprised that Shipp’s attorney’s didn’t pursue a temporary insanity defense. Although we know that the standard of insanity defense in the State of Alabama is so high, that it is virtually never successful. In my opinion, while Kenneth Shipp might have acted irresponsibly in some ways, and it does seem obvious that he picked up his gun and pulled the trigger, the aggravating circumstances add up to manslaughter and twenty years – not life in prison.
Which really just leaves a bunch of unanswered questions. Who owns the property? Is there even any hope of restoring the building? How can the City ignore what has become not just an eyesore, but an extremely dangerous attractive nuisance? (There was a death in the building recently, about 2 years ago, that was investigated as a suicide.) Early Works recently indicated that funding has been received in order to do major renovations to Constitution Hall Park, but no mention of the Historic Huntsville Freight Building was made.
Where does Hobby Lobby fit into the equation – “a method of social, occupational and political control, to the point of subjugation, that is in their best economic or political interest.” Why do you think they call it the “Hobble” Lobby?
I guess if you escort your kid to the park, if you can avoid an argument with gunfire, you can keep an eye the kid. But, if you want to introduce you kid to the seedy underside of low level gang activity, or maybe worse, just turn ’em loose to hang out there.
The scuttlebutt on the streets is that City and State officials have had it. This mayhem must be stopped! Reports at this time indicate that a contingency of armored vehicles has been commissioned from Redstone Arsenal with backup to arrive from Ft. McClellan within the week. Residents will be asked to move, and if they refuse, their homes will be bulldozed while they are still inside.
At face value, the entire situation is absolutely ridiculous and completely inexcusable. The facility isn’t really all that large. Recent numbers indicate that Tutwiler is currently housing less than 1000 inmates, and has a staff of about 100. That’s smaller than most of the hundreds of high schools in Alabama.
