Snowy Big Spring

Remember the olden days when we used to build web pages with lots of tricks like this? In honor of the white stuff on the ground this weekend, I decided to… stay indoors and drag out this shot, actually nine shots stitched together from the great snow of 2011. I took a bunch of photos in the snow back then that I really like, mostly because I don’t have to go out and get them now.

This panoramic was put together using Photoshop, and without a lot of preliminary wrangling on my part that might have corrected some perspective and hidden some seams a little better. There’s one spot on the north end where the buildings don’t match too good, and if you really want to catch me, I did use a little artistic license around the edges where the frames went empty. the full frame just looks better – thank you very much painting tools.

Cannon Balls Redux – Network Tv – A Sign Of The Times

Mainstream media satellite trucks counting the minutes in 2005 awaiting Eric Rudolph to appear at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Huntsville.

This live-stream walkabout is, in a lot of ways, about the transition of media, all media, from print and broadcast TV, to Internet digital. It’s also about Huntsville events and landmarks past, present and future, and a man whose elevator didn’t quite reach the top.

Dereck Chauvin Sentencing (America Under Siege)

George Floyd Protest

Three dozen psyoptic “supernovas” in two weeks is too much and I am observing a pall around town and I am quite certain I am not the only one who is overdosed and disgusted. PANORAMA PHOTO INCLUDED.

Maple Hill Cemetery – Gallery Of Galleries 2005

This photographic essay of historic Maple Hill cemetery isn’t about the bigwigs buried there. During my stroll I tried to capture the ambience and serenity of life’s final stage, with a hopeful tincture for the beyond.
