Hollywood has also been too grateful to be critical. Just look at all those wonderful space films, and space monsters, and space crafts, and Star Trek, and aliens, and time warps, and macro scopes, and telescopes…

One year to go until 2019 will mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.

In this shot, without saying a word, Buzz the most famous photographer of all having documented Niel Armstrong’s first steps on the moon, was saying to me, “use the flash dumb-ass.”

When it dawned on me after a little while – it has been 18 years after all – that I not only have photos of John Glenn, but had also published the the two columns, I had to go looking in the off-line archives to find the material.

Former NASA astronaut and Huntsville resident Owen Garriott has passed away. As an Astronaut with NASA Mr. Garriott spent 60 days on Skylab in 1973 and 10 days on the Space Shuttle Space lab in 1983.

Apparently the Internet handle “@” is the inspiration for the 2017 solar eclipse and North Korea’s desire to meet with apocalypse.

The absolute optimum is actually early tomorrow morning, but hay, I’m done for the evening. You can still get out there and view this once in a lifetime event.

I just finished my photography session of the Venus Transit. Not having the best equipment for solar photography, I set up a reflective system using binoculars onto a white piece of cardboard…
