NASA Astronaut Buzz Aldrin discusses the X-33, while holding a scale model, during a press conference at the USSRC in 1999 during the 30th anniversary of the first moon landing. Mr. Aldrin poignantly stated that the X-33 couldn't fly because of it's design. Ultimately, it never did.

Former NASA astronaut and Huntsville resident Owen Garriott has passed away. As an Astronaut with NASA Mr. Garriott spent 60 days on Skylab in 1973 and 10 days on the Space Shuttle Space lab in 1983.

Honestly, I really hadn’t even decided to roll out this morning to even attempt to get a shot of the Super Blue Blood Moon because I knew it would be low on the horizon, and I frankly don’t like getting up before daylight, much less in the freezing cold without so much as a cup of coffee.

The 2017 solar ecipse in Huntsville only reached 97% of totality, but I still got a pretty good shot.
The historic event is over and now we find ourselves on the far side of the moon. In Huntsville “totality” only reached 97% but I got a pretty good shot.
