RIP Owen Garriott

Buzz Aldrin, pictured above on the left, and others report today on Twitter that electrical engineer, former NASA astronaut and Huntsville resident Owen Garriott has passed away. Owen Garriott was born on November 22, 1930 and was 88 years old. As an Astronaut with NASA Mr. Garriott spent 60 days on Skylab in 1973 and 10 days on the Space Shuttle Space lab in 1983. No other details regarding his passing were immediately available.



Also pictured above is Dick Gordon who passed on November 6 of 2017 at 88 years old. Dick Gordon was one of 24 American astronauts to fly to the moon acting as the Command Module Pilot for Apollo 12. He was also the pilot of Gemini 11 in 1966.
