Unbefuckinglievable.
I’m watching the flood the zone attack being waged by Trump and his lieutenant Musk. Have no doubt, this is an extraordinarily dangerous situation that might already be referred to as a coup to overthrow the United States.
• USAID: Closing an agency even when pretending it’s under a different authority is unconstitutional.
• Wages: Setting the stage to escalate slave working conditions for wage earners by facilitating what the Chinese call “996” is hard core authoritarian classism cum caste. (Work 9am to 9pm 6 days a week.) The intent is unconstitutional.
• “Fraud”: Exercising a line item veto after spending bills have been passed isn’t constitutional even for the president, much less a maniacal private sector tyrant.
• Appropriations: Letting frat brats from the private sector under the authority of a maniacal tyrant take over the financial system with access to the private records of virtually every American is unforgivable and unconstitutional.
• Department Of Education: Having successfully closed one agency unconstitutinally and then setting sights for another again crosses the line suggesting an ongoing coup that could literally end democracy with a dictatorship.
• Gaza: Ending decades long policy toward Gaza and the two state solution with threats of military occupation and territorial acquisition for the benefit of wealthy developers is a land grab – not diplomacy.
• Panama Canal: I can’t say I disagree with the intent to reclaim the Panama Canal, I disagreed with giving it up to begin with, but that must also be a diplomatic process.
I’m following the Democratic responses and the morons are still arguing about the liberal intentions of the programs that are being cut. It’s no longer about what the programs are, it’s about the constitutional process that’s being shredded by a smoke screen, potentially to the point of no return.
Morally depraved Republicans are sitting back gloating about the programs rather than taking action against the brazenly unconstitutional tirade that will injure the legitimate process, perhaps with permanent consequences that even they may not be able to live with.
It should also be noted that many of Trump’s shock and awe proposals add up to a massive buildup of the US military. That combined with the imposition of tariffs equals more taxation and inflation the American people will have to pay for – not less.1
Trump, either your goddamn potty training is an insult that has gone too far, or you’re about to become a despot on par with Bashar al-Assad. No, I don’t fucking like it, and no I don’t need to pack up and leave – but maybe it’s about time you do.
