Crime Of The Century #1 – 911

When I first thought of the China Virus as “The Crime of the Century,” it was really just an automatic conclusion. Then of course, it begged the question and this cover series was born.

Back in the day of 911 I was still building my website by hand using just html and while the idea of a Cover splash page had already been implemented for short time, I hadn’t envisioned or presented anything like the Covers category of today. This series gives me latitude to present this cover at this time.

So, I wasn’t in New York when 911 happened, and the photo for this creative graphic cover is a frame grab from where I’m not exactly sure. Interesting to note, I actually considered traveling to New York in early August of 2001 but it just wasn’t in the cards, and if I had I would’ve left and been back home a week or two before the attack.

The photo in the graphic is obviously blurred, because it was originally much smaller. I saved this one and a few others to blow-up and use as screen savers. So, it was in my bitmap collection. The others are actually a bit sharper, but I like the surreal representation of the Statue of Liberty, the billowing smoke and the soon to be empty space left by the Trade Towers…

Cover Series – Crime Of The Century #2 – China Virus

I first picked the scene on Clinton Avenue one day last March when out looking for photos to illustrate the impact of the China Virus when I noticed there was so little traffic in downtown. Near the crosswalk the emptiness immediately caught my attention as a contrast to the Beatles Album Abbey Road.
