If You Want To Be A Survivor – Switchfoot!

On the heals of Chris Cornell’s suicide by hanging, I guess I should ask the forgiveness of Soundgarden fans. The cover photo of Switchfoot in 2004 at Big Spring Jam, however, immediately came to mind because of the risky antics of who I assume to be Switchfoot’s lead man Jon Foreman. The photo had been on my back burner since 2004, but it never quite seemed to fit any context until now. The unfortunate allusions are obvious.

Switchfoot is an alternative rock band from Sand Diego California (Wikipedia) that apparently is still going strong today. Which might also be to say that Jon Foreman is a really careful guy who probably doesn’t climb up the frame of the gallows too very often.

    It’s An Ugly F*ing Building

I might have titled this column “The Empire Strikes Back.” If I did that, however, it would only be in good natured jest, but frankly, I already have more misgivings about Mr. Trump than I expected I would, and so I already wonder how far the “good natured” part of the equation is going to go.

It Is Written | Damn Roy Moore

Roy Moore lost his license a long time ago. If he and the Alabama Supreme Court can’t come up with a valid legal argument based on the US Constitution, it’s simply time to accept that separation of Church and State and the integrity of the US Constitution is more important than Roy Moore’s fear of the apocalypse.

    Donald Trump’s Historic REALTIME Tweets

Maybe it’s just sour grapes. That fact is, I couldn’t respond quickly enough to retweet for my 12 (?) followers, and so was upstaged by… Scott Pelley. How can I get more followers when I’m up against that kind of competition. Well, to CBS and all the others, you can count on this – as God is my witness – I will continue to do my part to proliferate the national hysteria when this phenomena happens again !!!

A Rare Conundrum: No Justice Is Good Justice

The constitution is the infrastructure that paved the way, in spite of human corruption, to advance civil rights and social parity. Those who are drunk on their new found accountability cannot be allowed to throw the baby out with the bathwater because of the lingering chip on their shoulders – or their skewed perspective of a blustery politician.

Trump Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch Sustains Pattern Of Extremism

All in all Gorsuch seems like a good choice to replace Scalia, well educated, consistent, and even tempered. Unfortunately, his one notable credential is exactly the one that I consider to be one of the biggest dangers to our constitutional jurisprudence…

Obamacare A or Obamacare B? NEITHER

In short, the best approach is to repeal and start over, or get the hell out of healthcare completely. The individual states are already headed for neo-nazi style impositions, and that also would be better forestalled by the larger national debate and consistent regulation.
