MY OPINION
SCOTUS Pulling the Stops on Trump is Contraindicated
The court argued lack of oversite by lower courts of the executive orders allowing many of Trump’s initiatives to go forward in spite of pending legal challenges. As additional information has become available to me I’m now confident in saying the last “election” was in fact an insurrection. Trump’s people call it a “movement” which is the code speak they chose in advance as part of the conspiracy. That having been said, I might have agreed with the court on what seems to be a subjective decision – in times past.
However, because it has become clear that we are not just seeing extremism by Trump, but in fact an insurrection that intends to undermine the constitution and fundamentally change government, I now have to say that putting the brakes on Trump in any way is best for the nation. In that light, I’ve always believed government gridlock to be a good thing anyway.
It’s being said that the nationwide injunctions are a new phenomenon, except to the extent that Joe Biden also has many orders blocked. It seems to me that while the nation is sharply divided the checks and balances, and gridlock, are what the framers intended as a means to forestall rash changes to government. The ax and chainsaw that Trump has wielded is exactly the type of situation where the restraints are needed.
The extremism on the SCOTUS is more than I ever expected and it seems obvious they intend to allow fundamental changes in government without constitutional review.
