The Keyboard Player Redux (Trump’s Living Constitution)

The Supreme Court of the United States - SCOTUS

We Still Have Civil Rights

Ending affirmative action (DEI) does not negate the US Constitution. Arbitrary discrimination and denial of access are still unconstitutional and illegal. There are still civil rights. However, there are two problems with this reality – the Ultra Left and the Alt right. “Shit or get off the pot?” Restated, that’s divide and conquer. The song says, “nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong.” The song is absolutely correct.

The Ultra-left Distraction

The Ultra-left still hasn’t learned because their concern is still more about the results they want rather than what the constitution recognizes or allows. Some fights are over, that’s just the way it is, and the sooner the liberals refocus on protecting the process, the sooner they might preserve the process which actually does work pretty good – even for them. When the process doesn’t work, it’s because people are corrupt and no process can supersede that.

The Ultra-left isn’t just losing, the neo-Nazis’ are winning. A huge problem for the ultra-left has always been that they somehow believe alignment with neo-Nazism is somehow in their best interest. It’s always amused me that certain sectors of marginalized groups: LGBTQ, jews, blacks, women, angry white men… somehow think neo-Nazism is ok when imposed by them onto others. Amused is perhaps the wrong word because there is nothing more sickening than a neo-Nazi Jew, for instance. But, that’s the ultra-left.

The Alt-right “biden” Time

Trump Is Extremely Dangerous

Guess what, the alt-right has arrived and while their brand of neo-Nazism looks about the same, it won’t be for long. It’s funny to say because they are the ones who’ve been “biden” time. And, they will continue to do so for awhile while they regroup and their new enablements by Trump’s Supreme Court take hold. It will be a mostly slow process as the religious cults take over the education system imposing their pseudo-Christian values on someone else’s kid as they hoard the treasures beneath the stone. Along with the other things.

And while there are still civil rights, the attack by the Trump administration and his lieutenant Musk is already said by some media sources to be changing and expanding the scope of executive branch authority. If Trump continues to pull out the stops, fire all the protestors, and expand his power – that equals a dictatorship. I’ve already been told I have a penchant for stating the obvious, nevertheless, seeing is believing and some folks don’t yet seem to believe. It could happen.

Born In The USA

Fortunately, some court decisions are already coming down that curtail Trump’s tirade. Unfortunately, some of Trump’s tirade is still going uninterrupted and so he’s still marching to an unconstitutional end. Trump recently deported gang members and thugs in a manner that was fundamentally illegal. He gets away with it because the legal challenge came too late – setting a new precedent. The question of birthright citizenship is now headed to the Supreme Court. It’s unthinkable that the SCOTUS would rule in Trump’s favor, but they might. Then down the slippery slope the stage is set to deny citizenship to ANYONE in the United States. It’s a recipe for censorship and dictatorship. A journalist that refuses to say: “Gulf of America,” might be singled out as an enemy of the State, have their citizenship revoked, and be deported.

Business As Usual?

It would be easy to sit back, stare out the window, and dismiss the goings on as “much ado about nothing.” That is not the case. This is the really real thing. Some who scoffed at my admonition’s years ago suddenly don’t seem to have so much to mock about anymore. As an evolving journalist I saw it coming and realized very quickly that it’s not a continuing education class. Ipso facto it’s not just a generational change either. It is a regime change the likes of which is more often the result of combat war. And it ain’t over yet. The SCOTUS may still redefine what civil rights are and are not. And, Trump’s brigade might go further over the edge into overt authoritarianism.

What To Expect

Trump’s Tariffs and Economic Redistribution

Hell if I know. I still suppose the tariffs are not all bad and I’m fed up with undersized socks and polyester uniforms made outside the U.S. I don’t drink much French wine or champagne anyway so if keeping our beer and booze results in cheaper prices here at home, all the better. The corruption and embiggening of first responders doesn’t bode well. If the people charged with protecting the community become the enforcers of the political despots – will our communities really be safe? What happens if all the zoo animals escape? In South Carolina all the monkeys escaped. They were finally rounded up using peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as bait. Might better buy some PB&J fixens in case the gorillas show up.

The most important thing about this dog and pony show wasn’t what was said as much as how it appeared. Trump came into the room looking more presidential than ever.
