Bike pack traveling and stealth camping often results in little or no internet connection in the evenings, meaning I fall a little bit behind the latest news and responding to my messages.
Only a few minutes ago did I learn of the sudden passing of Lindsey Graham two days ago. Something of a political nemesis I found Mr. Graham to be too extreme even though I count myself as a moderate conservative. (Nowadays, centrist might be more apropos.)
I have written columns on tocc.tv that have included comments regarding the South Carolina Senator, but most recently in Nov. of ’24 I presented this video in regard to a particular stretch on the ECG (East Coast Greenway) in SC and what sometimes seems to be a political disconnect by the alt-right when it comes to community projects. I had Mr. Graham in mind when making the video.
Graham was an amiable and likable character and I always felt the right appeal might bring him around to a more moderate stance on various concerns.
Rest in Peace Lindsey, the political landscape will never be the same without you.
