Protesters gathered in downtown Huntsville this morning to express their contempt for the recent decision by the Supreme Court overturning Roe V Wade which had established protections for abortion nationwide.
A Crowd of 1000 or more listened to speakers and then marched around the Madison County Courthouse completely encircling the building.
A few counter protestors arrived early on with a bull horn finding a spot across the street on the corner of North Side Square setting the stage for a shouting match between them and the Rovey demonstrators that lasted all morning. Police intervened a time or two when the protesters attempted to engage too closely and subsequently set up a buffer to keep the the opposing groups apart.
There did’t appear to be any incidents at the peaceful but spirited demonstration.
