Leon Russell At Big Spring Jam 1999

Leon Russell At Huntsville's Big Spring Jam In 1999

Maybe taking a look at the newly published “About Photography” page you might have wondered who the shadow in the spotlight is. If you guessed Leon Russell, you are correct. Here is another shot of Leon that I took at the Big Spring Jam in 1999. It’s one of my favorites because it turned out pretty good, using 35mm film at night with concert lighting, when I had little to no experience with that type of photography.

It was a great concert too. My music tastes were never quite in phase with Leon Russell, although I’m not exactly sure why, because I really enjoyed his bluesy rifts and soulful sound.

I guess if you escort your kid to the park, if you can avoid an argument with gunfire, you can keep an eye the kid. But, if you want to introduce you kid to the seedy underside of low level gang activity, or maybe worse, just turn ’em loose to hang out there.
