Maybe taking a look at the newly published [ About Photography ] page you might have wondered who the shadow in the spotlight is. If you guessed Leon Russell, you are correct. Here is another shot of Leon that I took at the Big Spring Jam in 1999. It’s one of my favorites because it turned out pretty good, using 35mm film at night with concert lighting, when I had little to no experience with that type of photography.
It was a great concert too. My music tastes were never quite in phase with Leon Russell, although I’m not exactly sure why, because I really enjoyed his bluesy rifts and soulful sound.
