Remembering Charlie Lyle – R.I.P. July 1, 2018

VIDEO/mp4/14mb/3:23m

I see with sadness that Charlie Lyle passed away just a few days ago. Many will remember that Charlie and his big band orchestra was the punctuating finale of the Monday night Big Spring Concerts in the Park for many years. This video was taken in September of 2002 before summer vacation for school kids was cut in half. Since then, the concerts schedule has also shortened, and of course so much else has changed in the 16 years since then.

The video seen here is another that I produced in a better quality format than I was able to present on the Internet at that time, and in spite of missing a few tapes, I still had this original production in the archives in full avi format. Presented here in mp4 the quality is nearly is nearly lossless.

Charlie Lyle was 87 years old. Rest In Peace Charlie – July 1, 2018.
